This project collects sensory data from organic matter, abstracting its features into text and sound to create a purely data-driven representation. While the organic matter decays physically, the data persists as a structured record of its existence. Presented in a dual-sided format, the front side mimics an archive cabinet with organized text and sound, while the back reveals the decaying organic matter generating real-time data. This juxtaposition explores the boundaries of representation, questioning whether selected features can substitute for the material’s essence once it disappears. The project highlights the tension between materiality and datafication, inviting reflection on existence in a digital era.

The work is presented in a dual-sided format:

Front Side: Designed like an archive cabinet, it features meticulously organized text and sound records. The text adopts the format of experimental logs, narrating the organic matter’s state, while the sound is generated from the electrical current produced by the organic matter itself.

Back Side: The decaying organic matter is equipped with sensors that collect real-time data, which is then transformed into text and sound, creating a continuous loop of representation. This juxtaposition highlights the tension between the natural disappearance of material and its digital preservation
